Truffle Week at Verity Lane Market

One of our favourite times in Canberra’s foodie calendar is here – it’s truffle season! There’s an abundance of delicious truffle dishes and incredible truffle events to tantalise your tastebuds if you love this unique ingredient as much as we do.

To celebrate, Truffle Week is kicking off at Verity Lane Market from 29 June until 8 July with a selection of incredible truffle-infused dishes available from the five amazing vendors. The Italian, Chinese, Indonesian and Singaporean vendors will prepare exquisite and unique dishes infused with fresh truffles sourced from local Bungendore farm, Turalla Truffles.

So what truffle dishes can you try during Truffle Week at Verity Lane Market?

New kids on the block, Lim Peh Wan Tan Mee will be serving up a Truffled Prawn and Pork Shui Jiao Mee.

“Shui Jiao is a type of dumpling that is normally poached in a broth of some sort,” says the Lim Peh Wan Tan Mee team.

“In our rendition, we mix in grated black truffles into the dumpling mixture. We gently poach it in double
strength chicken broth and serve it on top of our signature egg noodles which have been mixed through with our house infused truffle oil. It’s then topped off with a 60 degree, truffle infused hen’s egg.”

Try a Tom Ayam Truffle, made up of truffled free range chicken mince, folded with truffle infused egg, coconut cream and garlic, steamed in banana leaf and served with truffle infused jasmine rice from Rasa Rosa.

The amazing Superbao team have created a special Truffle Mushroom Bao. Think crispy battered mushroom, truffle mayo and freshly grated truffle stuffed in a fluffy bao.

We can’t forget Pizza Artigiana and Pasta Artigiana. They’ve create an entire truffle menu! You’ll have trouble deciding between Porcini Mushroom and Truffle Arancini, Gnocchi Cacio e Pepe with truffle pecorino Toscano, gorgonzola, and freshly shaved truffle, Buffalo Ricotta and Porcini Ravioli with fresh truffle, Ragu Bianco with porcini and truffle and a delicious Truffle Honey Panna Cotta to finish.

Wash it all down with Verity Lane Market’s signature winter Truffle Negroni made with local truffle infused Underground Spirits gin.
