Four pop-up bars for you to visit in Canberra on an autumn afternoon or evening

Bars are popping up in Canberra for a limited time this autumn with a selection of delicious eats, drinks and good vibes. Because we all know after the past few years everyone’s had had, we need all the good vibes we can get. So round up your crew and head out for an arvo to one of these Canberra pop-up bars before they disappear.

The Secret Gin Garden

Pialligo Estate and Underground Spirits have joined forces to create a private garden party in the Old Parliament House Courtyard during Enlighten Festival. If you want to visit, you must purchase a pre-purchase a ticket for entry on your chosen date and time. Your ticket will give you exclusive access to the gin garden and a gin paddle with three Underground Spirits gin tastings, paired with three canapes designed by Pialligo Estate’s Executive Chef, Mark Glenn. Drinks and food is available to purchase at the bar.

Entry will also give you the chance to try the newly released Underground Spirits X Pialligo Estate gin, The Estate’s Gardener’s Gin, created using foraged ingredients straight from the estate.

First release tickets sold out quickly but a second round of dates and times have just been released. Tickets are extremely limited so head to the website and grab your tickets so you don’t miss out.

The Whisky Wanderer

The ultimate whisky experience has arrived in Canberra, in the form of the iconic Glenfiddich Whisky Wanderer. It’s a 1972 double-decker vintage Leyland bus that has been converted into a mobile whisky experience on wheels and it’s taking over Odgers Lane until 19 March, offering a full-service bar, lounge area and dining experiences. 

The bus is part of an outdoor laneway experience with Canberra’s best whisky bar – Molly.

Hendrick’s Cucumber Bar

Ostani Bar have partnered with Hendricks Gin and Fever Tree to bring you all things gin, including the newly released, Hendricks Luna Gin.

There will be games on the lawn and you can enjoy four specially curated gin cocktails, straight from the Hendricks cucumber Airstream bar.

The bus is parked outside of Ostani on Bourke St in Barton and is open from 12pm until late on Friday and Saturday. The Cucumber bars last day in Canberra will be Saturday 19 March.

Garden sessions on the QT Canberra deck

Garden sessions on the QT Canberra deck start Sunday 20th March. QT Canberra have teamed up with Rekorderlig to transform their deck into a garden oasis so you can spend you Sunday afternoon sitting and sipping surrounded by DJs spinning live tunes, cider cocktails and a paddock-to-plate inspired menu designed. 

The menu features cheese boards, burgers, ribs, oysters, truffle and porcini arancini, and more. Rekorderlig cocktails, local beer and $9 glasses of wine – your Sunday afternoon is sorted!

Garden Sessions on the QT Deck kicks off on the Sunday 20th March, from 1-4pm and will be open on Sunday 27th March and Sunday 3rd April. Walk ins only.
