An Evening with the Sommelier and the Chef at Capitol Bar & Grill

Canberra’s wine region is made up of more than 130 vineyards and more than 40 wineries. So of course that means we have an abundance of incredible cool climate wines within our reach.

Drawing on inspiration from the wine region and celebrating the start of truffle season, Capitol Bar & Grill are inviting you to an interactive wine and dining experience hosted by their award-winning Executive Chef, Josh Smith-Thirkell, and Group Wine Director for QT Hotels, Chris Morrison.

The long table dining experience on Thursday 17 June will take you on a five course culinary journey with a menu curated by Josh. Think freshly shucked oysters, truffles and Capitol’s signature prime meat cuts.

Chris spent almost 25 years in the wine and hospitality industries, previously leading the three-hatted Guillaume at Bennelong restaurant. He was also the former Good Food Guide Sommelier of the Year so he knows a thing or two about good wine and he has selected a local and international wine pairing for each course.

Josh and Chris will share their years of experience and insight into the Canberra wine scene, the inspiration behind the wine and how each drop connects with the produce.
