But it’s worth braving the elements and heading out for one of these winter cocktail concoctions, which will warm you from the inside.

Negroni at Joe’s Bar (69 Canberra Ave, Griffith)

The cosy couches at Joe’s Bar are like a warm hug on their own, but you’ll feel truly snug with one of their Negronis in hand. With gin, Cinzano Rosso and Campari, Joe’s Bar’s Negronis are barrel-aged in oak and rinsed with grappa for two months. It’ll warm the soul instantly.

Fire Blazer at Molly (35°16’44.5″S 149°07’42.0″E)

This cocktail is literally on fire! Head to speakeasy Molly and order one of their famous blazers and you’re be in for a toasty treat with a show to boot.

‘Through the curtains, down the stairs’ at Parlour (16 Kendall Ln, Acton)

The name’s a bit of a mouthful, but this wintery cocktail is worth getting your mouth around. Named after the answer to the most commonly asked question at Parlour cocktail bar, ‘Through the curtains, down the stairs’ will either lead you in the right direction for when nature calls, or it’ll get you this decadent concoction of whisky, stirred down with chocolate, vermouth, pomegranate and a touch of salt.

The Negroni appears on the list again because it’s a popular Italian cocktail loved by many, but we’ve never seen a Negroni like this. That is until Amici Bar opened their doors on Northbourne Avenue in May. They’ve taken the Negroni to another level with their Negroni fountain! This cute little deli, wine and cocktail bar will make you feel like you’re somewhere in Italy enjoying the European summer…. You’ll soon forget about Canberra winter. At least until you walk outside!
