Truffle Degustation Dinner at Parliament House

Eat Canberra

The truffle season is almost over so this is your last chance to get your truffle fix for 2019! Parliament House invite you to their six-course truffle degustation at the exclusive Members and Guests Dining Room.

Executive Chef David Learmonth recently joined the truffle hunt at Macenmist Black Truffle near Bredbo and handpicked the produce for his degustation menu to be held over two nights on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th August.

You will have the chance to see Parliament House like you’ve never seen it before as you start the evening with canapés on the Members and Guests Terrace while taking in the stunning views of Canberra, before sitting down to the truffle degustation menu. The menu will also feature honey from their beehives – yes, Parliament House have their own beehives!

Enjoy a glass of wine or two? Parliament House has partnered with Australian wineries to offer the option of wine pairing with each dish.

Throughout the evening, Chef David will share the inspiration behind his menu, taking you through each course and giving you a tip or two to help you master the art of cooking with truffles at home.

“I’m interested in telling a story of truffles from the farm to table and how we are utilising each and every part of the dishes with truffle. Rather than just shaving truffles, there will be more depth in how we use the truffle, and more techniques applied to all the elements of our menu design for the degustation,” said Executive Chef David Learmonth.
