Nights at Penny

Penny University

Popular Kingston café, Penny University, are well-known for their popular brunch and lunch offerings. Have you heard about their banoffee croissant French toast? Some very popular sweet treat items combined to create one rich and decadent #treatyoself dish – add it to your bucket list! But the team from Penny are mixing things up a little with the recent launch of their Nights at Penny dinner events.

The four-course dinners launched on Friday 12th April (with a sell-out debut) and will be held on a monthly basis over the coming months. Local produce will be featured in each menu with the option of matched Canberra region wine that will change with each event.

Diners will experience Penny’s well-loved and unique cooking style, in a casual-meets-fine-dining atmosphere.

One of the dishes from the first Nights at Penny events that featured matching wine from Mount Majura Vineyard.

The next event is Friday 31st May and the theme is ‘Food from Home’.  The dinner will showcase the cultural backgrounds of their chefs and what they eat with their families at home.

If you’re lucky enough to get a seat then you’ll be treated to Shitake mushroom fritters, Northern Territory barramundi with a Japanese twist, Indian spiced lamb and a citrus dessert with a house made sorbet.

You will have the option of enjoying your dinner with matched wine from the team at popular Contentious Character Winery.

Choose from the 6pm, 7pm or 8pm seating times on Friday 31st May.
