Baked on Mort is now open for dinner

Baked on Mort

Guess what? Baked on Mort is now open for dinner! Expect a laid-back vibe, quality food and great prices.

Baked on Mort started as a French bakery, opening one street away from Braddon’s popular Lonsdale St in late-2017. Since then, they’ve been dishing up amazing baked goods, as well as breakfast and lunch options, specialising in the delicious Bragel (their own creation of crossing a bagel and brioche). Do yourself a favour and try it! Luckily for us, Baked on Mort have recently started opening their doors for dinner on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

The bacon and egg bragel that I had was so good.

Their menus sounds amazing! It includes house made scallop fried wontons with grapefruit and avocado (in the photo above), buttermilk fried pork crackle (omg), tartare, unique pasta dishes and a selection of other edible delights. I had the wontons at their sister restaurant, Les Bistronomes, when I tried the $50 Saturday lunch special. I’ll be posting an article about that experience soon but it’s a ‘must do’ in Canberra!

I spoke with Abel (one of the owners) a few weeks ago and he said that he wants to offer Canberrans something that’s hard to find in Braddon. A place where people can go for a reasonably priced dinner of high-quality food that tastes delicious and looks beautiful, in a casual environment.

You can choose from the 8-course BAKED sharing option for ONLY $40pp (for the whole table) or you pick a few dishes from the a la carte menu. You can also crack a can from Bentspoke Brewery for $6 with your meal. Understand what I meant about laid back?

Baked on Mort’s dinner menu as of 17th April 2018.
