Aubergine

Aubergine is one of my favourite fine dining restaurants in Canberra. They nail it every time. The service is spot on, the food is impeccable and the setting is very romantic. If you have some money to spare and want to treat your love to an extra special dinner then Aubergine is the place to go. They don’t usually open on Sunday but this year they will be open especially for Valentine’s Day. You will get an exquisite 4-course menu for $90 pp. If you get a spot here you’ll be very lucky so my advice is to BOOK NOW.

This is another one that’s on my list to try! I’ve been here for drinks and coffee but I’m yet to indulge in the amazing food. I know lots of people who have and they’ve been impressed. It’s a beautiful, intimate, stylish setting and you could even go and see a movie at Palace Electric Cinema before or after your meal. Bonus!

Don’t feel like joining the crowd? Why not cook your lover something special at home instead? Valentine’s Day recipes are coming soon.

Personally, I’m not really that into Valentine’s Day. The idea of one commercialised day to show someone you love along with millions of other couples doesn’t really do it for me. My partner and I show each other we love each other and do special things every day so we don’t need one day to dedicate to this. BUT, as you know, I LOVE going out for dinner and there are heaps of places offering beautiful Valentine’s Day menus in beautiful settings to celebrate your love.

I think I’ll cook some yummy food at home and just do something to show Mr Eat Canberra I love him, like I do everyday.

Whatever you choose or don’t choose to do whether you’re in a relationship or not, just have fun because that’s what life is all about!
