The highly-anticipated Monet: Impression Sunrise exhibition opens at the National Gallery of Australia from June 8. Want to learn all about the exhibition direct from the curator while you enjoy a relaxing three course lunch? You can do just that at Monet: Impression Sunrise, Lunch With The Curator on Saturday June 15.
Given it’s generally frowned upon to eat in a gallery (unsurprising given they’re teeming with irreplaceable artworks) the lunch is happening over the lake at Marble and Grain.
Tucked into the ground floor of the Avenue Hotel in Braddon, the European-styled steakhouse and bar boasts a modern luxe interior and relaxed vibe, perfect for a Saturday lunch.
They’re yet to release the menu for the Curator Lunch, but given Marble and Grain is known for their quality produce and sophisticated dishes, you know you’ll be in for a good feed.
Each course includes a matched wine, and you’ll get to hear from the exhibition curator throughout the event.
Tickets for the lunch also include entry to Monet: Impression Sunrise, so you can head to the gallery at your leisure and enjoy the exhibition itself, armed with all of the info you’ve learnt from the curator.
The Monet: Impression Sunrise exhibition brings together works from Claude Monet, including his pioneering painting Soleil levant (Impression, Sunrise), which rarely leaves the museum walls in Paris. The exhibition also features some forty impressionist and related paintings from the Musée Marmottan Monet in Paris, the Tate, and Australian and New Zealand collections.
Monet: Impression Sunrise, Lunch with the Curator is on Saturday June 15 from 12.30pm. Tickets are $127.69 – you can buy them here.
Monet: Impression Sunrise exhibition is on at the National Gallery of Australia from 7 June to 1 September 2019. Get tickets here.
