Delicious food and a successful ‘Breaking the Mould’ fashion show for Cerebral Palsy Alliance

Eat Canberra

A few weeks ago Eat Canberra had the pleasure of supporting the Cerebral Palsy Alliance ‘Breaking the Mould’ Fashion Show. The event was organised by Danielle Cleary Events to raise money to support local families living with cerebral palsy in Canberra and the surrounding region.

Eat Canberra ran an exciting competition for one lucky Eat Canberra reader and two guests to win lunch with My Kitchen Rules contestants, The Italianos (Luciano and Martino). The boys were fantastic company and I took our special guests to one of my favourite restaurants, Akiba to enjoy the ‘Feed Me’ option. You get 8 different dishes to share for $45! It’s a fantastic way to sample some of Akiba’s best food and everyone was impressed with the lunch.

Everyone looked stunning at the Cerebral Palsy Alliance event and they were dressed to impress with the theme of spring and fashion in the air. The Canberra Southern Cross Club in Woden served up a delicious array of hot and cold food for an exquisite high tea experience! The look on the guests faces as they enjoyed the food and atmosphere said it all.

The very brave Melissa Agius shared Lexie’s story about her short precious life and reminded the 500 guests the importance of raising funds. Guests were then treated to a fashion show hosted by the iconic Sarah Kelly of my Fashion Empire with the Emeralds Cheer Squad and their mothers modelling alongside special the fabulous Italianos.

The MKR boys auctioned off a very special prize that gave one person the chance to have them visit their home and cook up a storm for them and their guests! The prize went for a whopping $4200! In total the event raised over $41,000. This will make a big difference to many people’s lives. Well done and congratulations to all who attended and made this event so incredible.
