Winter in Canberra is a truly beautiful time of year. The leaves have fallen and there is a definite winter chill in the air. Dishes are becoming richer, and Canberrans are searching for mid-week feasts to stay warm. Winter is also a time to celebrate fresh seasonal produce, and that is exactly what Il Covo did recently at their pear-themed dinner.
There are new restaurants popping up in Canberra all the time and my ‘to eat’ list is always growing. I love checking out new places so I was really excited when I received an invitation to dine at Darbar Indian Restaurant in Braddon.
XO Restaurant in Narrabundah has been on my ‘to eat’ list since they opened. Their food photos and recipes in The Capital Cookbook 3, and more recently Gourmet Traveller, have been tempting me for a long time. So I gave some (not so subtle) hints to Mr Eat Canberra about where I wanted to go for my birthday dinner….
