Il Covo – a hidden gem in Canberra

Eat Canberra

Winter in Canberra is a truly beautiful time of year. The leaves have fallen and there is a definite winter chill in the air. Dishes are becoming richer, and Canberrans are searching for mid-week feasts to stay warm. Winter is also a time to celebrate fresh seasonal produce, and that is exactly what Il Covo did recently at their pear-themed dinner.

Braddons ‘hottest’ new restaurant

There are new restaurants popping up in Canberra all the time and my ‘to eat’ list is always growing. I love checking out new places so I was really excited when I received an invitation to dine at Darbar Indian Restaurant in Braddon.

XO Restaurant Review

Eat Canberra

XO Restaurant in Narrabundah has been on my ‘to eat’ list since they opened. Their food photos and recipes in The Capital Cookbook 3, and more recently Gourmet Traveller, have been tempting me for a long time. So I gave some (not so subtle) hints to Mr Eat Canberra about where I wanted to go for my birthday dinner…. A Sage Dining Experience

I have been in awe of Sage Dining Rooms since I moved to Canberra. But for a reason unknown to me I haven’t dined there before. I’ve eaten at Courgette and Aubergine in Canberra, Aria in Sydney, The Modern and Marea in New York and other incredible restaurants in Australia, Asia and South America. But Sage remained on my ‘to eat’ list, until recently.

I’m always so excited and intrigued when I go to fine dining restaurants. I love the beautifully plated dishes that look like masterpieces on a plate with a combination of flavours and concepts you’ve never imagined. I love the sense of amazement I feel as the wait staff explain the dish and all of it’s components as they place the faultless plane in front of me. Continue reading A Sage Dining Experience
