Dinner’s ready: Quick, quality meals without the hassle

Dinner’s ready! They’re two of the best words said in most households every night. Those words mean a delicious meal is ready and everyone happily makes their way to the dinner table (or the lounge) with their plate of food in hand. The one person that might not be so happy is the person who’s cooked the dinner…. Continue reading Dinner’s ready: Quick, quality meals without the hassle

Escape to Hamilton Island

I’ve always said that the only way to survive a Canberra winter is to get out, even if it’s just for an extra long weekend! I’m originally from QLD so the sunshine and sea will always be some of my favourite things. We’re in the midst of the coldest time of the year in Canberra and it’s not too late to plan your winter escape. Even if you don’t live in Canberra, if a warm, island destination (otherwise known as paradise) is where you want to be then Hamilton Island is the perfect escape for you. We went there earlier in the year and had the best time exploring the island! Continue reading Escape to Hamilton Island

The Grounds of Alexandria – a magical day out

One of Sydney’s most iconic eateries, The Grounds of Alexandria is a foodie’s wonderland. Since its opening in 2012, The Grounds went from one of Sydney’s best kept secrets, to a must must visit destination. I have gone out of my way to go every time I’m in Sydney since I first heard about it in 2014. While maintaining its original charm, detail and level of care, The Grounds has grown exponentially in size, visitors and sites. I visited recently and I knew it was time to share my experience with you. Continue reading The Grounds of Alexandria – a magical day out

Explore Rutherglen: Tastes of Rutherglen Food & Wine Festival

Eat Canberra

There are many things that I love about Canberra, including its proximity to major cities, beaches, the bushland, picturesque mountains and gorgeous landscapes. Within 20 mins your can find yourself in New South Wales and within several hours you can even find yourself in Victoria.

It’s Aussie Wine Month this month so we thought that now would be the perfect time to share our experience with you. Continue reading Explore Rutherglen: Tastes of Rutherglen Food & Wine Festival

Chef of the Month: Damian Brabender

Eat Canberra

Food, food, glorious food. We all know that Canberra is home to some pretty amazing restaurants, cafes, pubs and everything in between. These establishments  offer an incredible selection of high quality food using local, fresh produce.

We all love a good #foodpic but what about the masterminds and creators behind the food you see, eat and salivate over? The ones who spends hours creating menus to tantalise your tastebuds and bring plates of food art to your table that makes you “ooh” and “ahh”. That’s right, I’m talking about the chefs.

We love everything food related at Eat Canberra which is why we’re bringing you our Chef of the Month article! We’ll be introducing you to a new chef each month so you can see who’s behind the wonderful food you eat. Continue reading Chef of the Month: Damian Brabender

Sweet Potato Gnocchi by Lola Berry

Eat Canberra

I love food! I love good food, bad food, raw food and cooked food. I love it all! I’m all about eating a balanced diet and while I indulge sometimes, I definitely don’t do it every day. I’m all for trying new and different things and have never been on a ‘diet’. I love food to much to restrict myself and instead I believe in eating everything in moderation.
