Anthea Cheng was always passionate about food and from a young age she wanted to make the world a better place. She moved to Canberra for work in 2011 and eventually realised she needed a change from her public service job. She wanted a career that would allow her to help people and contribute positively to the world.

In 2015, Anthea started an Instagram account, Rainbow Nourishments, where she would share her plant-based creations. Now with an Instagram following of over 92,000 people, Anthea has created a community and a career doing what she loves and helping others to live healthier and more sustainably. She has several ebooks, a cake business and she also hosts food workshops and events.

Japanese fusion dishes at Penny University

With a quirky, retro fit out and a uniquely delicious menu, it’s easy to see why Penny University is one of Canberra’s most popular brunch spots. It’s also a favourite with the stars like Adam Goodes, former Sydney Swans player, who stop by to get a taste for themselves. Their menu changes seasonally and we recently tried a few items from their summer menu. The menu features a few Japanese inspired dishes, alongside classic brunch items with a Penny twist. Have you ever wondered what it feels like to be a judge on MKR or Masterchef Australia? Well if you head in for a Taste & Test experience at Sage Restaurant then you’ll come pretty close to wearing the pants (or cravat) of Matt Preston or judging whether or not there’s enough sauce like Manu Fieldel.
