Decadent dessert on the Foreshore

Eat Canberra

Spring is here! That means longer days and warmer weather. It also means we’re coming out of winter hibernation (does a happy dance). What better way to enjoy the weather then with a walk along the Kingston Foreshore with your lover, friends or family. While you’re there you can stop in and treat yourself to an ice cream or a delicious dessert from Mövenpick. That’s what we did recently!

I love ice cream and I love dessert so when Sid from Mövenpick contacted us to come in and try his desserts I didn’t hesitate.

Sid first tried and fell in love with Mövenpick ice cream in 2003 when he was living in New Zealand. He moved to Canberra with his wife 6 years ago and when he saw the opportunity to open the store on the beautiful Kingston Foreshore he didn’t hesitate.

This is one of three sparkling sorbets on the menu. The lemon lime is delicious and is so refreshing, especially on a warm day!

Mövenpick is a Swiss brand of ice cream with no artificial additives, colours or flavours. There are more than 24 flavours of ice cream to choose from and a variety of mouth watering desserts to #treatyoself or share with your loved ones! But if you’re looking for your typical bubblegum or cookies and cream flavours that you find at other ice cream and dessert bars then you won’t find them here. Mövenpick is all about sophisticated, gourmet flavours using products from all over the world.

This delicious chocolate fondant was matched perfectly with the raspberry sorbet. A match made in heaven!

Whether it’s Bourbon vanilla pods from the tropical forests of Madagascar, the finest cocoa beans from the Maracaibo region of Venezuela, coffee beans from Colombia, mangos from India or coconut from Indonesia, Mövenpick aims to exclusive, natural products from around the world to create the ice cream that it’s renowned for. The products are then shipped to Switzerland where the Mövenpick magic happens. Using tried and tested recipes with some dating back to the 1960s – it’s all about quality!

Chocolate macaron ice cream sandwich with the most amazing Swiss chocolate ice cream. It was like a velvety chocolate mousse! These guys aren’t going to be around for much longer so get in quick if you want to try them.

Sid opened the doors to the Mövenpick gallery (one of only four of its kind in Australia) in April and he’s getting ready for spring and summer. He can’t wait to introduce you to Mövenpick and all the dessert options on offer.
