Young & Frisky – Gungahlin’s newest hot spot

Eat Canberra

I have a slight, well actually a BIG obsession with crispy, succulent, flavouresome fried chicken. I’m also partial to a drop of whiskey when the occasion calls for it (or after a long day)…..

So you can understand why I was pretty excited to receive an invite to attend the official launch of Gungahlin’s newest hot spot, Young & Frisky.

Last night we headed there and sampled some of the food and drinks that will be on offer to everyone from today! Yep, today is the first day Young & Frisky are opened and all who attend are in for a treat.

With a similar vibe to its sibling, Hopscotch, located on Braddon’s Lonsdale St, Young & Frisky is a much needed addition to the Gungahlin area.

If a trendy, pub style spot with live music, copious amounts of fried chicken, boutique beer, cocktails, whiskey and good service with a smile is what you’re after then this will soon become your favourite place for lunch, dinner and drinks!

You can make your own meal and your type of chicken, level of spice (from the original to the plucking hot) and picks your sides and sauce! They mash and gravy was seriously perfect. I could have devoured a big bowl of it, pair it with some crispy chicken and you have the perfect match. You’ll also find some pub favourites on the menu from chicken schnitty’, steaks and burgers! There’s even a Southern Fried Tofu Burger for the vegetarians among us.

The Frisky Martini also goes down a treat! Swap the vodka for whiskey and you have a super tasty and addictive Frisky Martini.

I can’t wait to see what you think and to head back to Young & Frisky ASAP. Until then I’ll dream about my fried chicken and Frisky Martini…..

Happy FRYday all!
